Wrist Watches first became popular in French in the 16th Century…but only worn by women as a fashion accessory…men would stick to their “Grandfather’s Pocket Watch” styles until World War I, when all foot soldiers were issued men’s wrist watches to coordinate military attacks. The wrist watch…by military importance…became a “man’s” jewelry…and like Prince William of England the watch is the only piece of jewelry most men wear…
